Salau Lukmon, 31, has been charged with the murder of a resident, Smith Agam, in the Ogba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
Lukmon faces four counts bordering on conspiracy, cultism, murder, and mutilation.
The charges read in part, “That you, Salau Lukmon, and others still at large, on or before July 15, 2022, at Imota area of Ikorodu Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, knowingly and intentionally formed and organised an unlawful society or cult, managed and assisted in the management of an unlawful society or cult named Eiye Confraternity, and did machete one Smith Agam in the head, which led to his death and mutilated his body parts.”
The prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, said the offenses were punishable under sections 233, 223, 411 and 2(3)(a)(b)(d)(e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The magistrate remanded Lukmon and adjourned the case till September 1, 2022, for trial.
