Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has demanded that his team receive the three points if their Premier League match against Manchester United is postponed due to fan protests.
A march against United owner Joel Glazer is scheduled to take place with about 10,000 United supporters.
Additionally, there are worries that splinter groups may try to enter the Old Trafford pitch and obstruct traffic.
The United vs. Liverpool game on May 2, 2021 during the 2020–2021 season was cancelled after a large protest turned violent, with fans fighting with police and others blocking the team bus.
The match was rescheduled and the Reds won 4-2, but Klopp feels his side should not be made to squeeze an extra fixture again.
“I really hope it will not happen, but if it happens, I think we should get the points.
“We have nothing to do with the situation if (United) supporters don’t want the game to happen. We can’t just rearrange the game again and try to fit it in somewhere in an incredibly busy period,” he said.
