Gov. Buni offers automatic employment to family of slain cleric

The two sons of the late Islamic cleric Sheikh Goni Aisami, who was killed last Friday near Gashua, have been offered automatic employment by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Governor Buni gave the order on Tuesday when family members came to see him to thank him for his concern for them.

The government will ensure that the circumstances surrounding the cleric’s death are investigated, Governor Buni promised through his media assistant, Mamman Mohammed.

Additionally, he assured the family that the government would continue to provide for them due to losing their breadwinner.

Malam Ibrahim Aisami, who spoke on behalf of the family, expressed appreciation for the message of condolence and visitation by a high-powered government delegation to commiserate with the family.

He said the employment would cushion hardships the family may suffer following the demise of the cleric.

Sheikh Aisami was allegedly killed last Friday by two suspected military personnel.

Meanwhile, the suspects have been arrested by the police while the Military announced that it has launched an investigation into the matter to unveil all details and anyone found wanting, would face the law.
