The wife of a chieftain of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers, Kazeem Ali who was kidnapped in Apomu, Osun State has revealed that her husband’s abductors are no longer reaching out to his family.
The wife of the victim identified as Jemila Ali while speaking with journalists on phone said the phone number used to contact the family could no longer be reached.
Recall that the Osun State Police Command had said Ali was attacked with machete by some hoodlums around Oke Alfa, Apomu, late Saturday, and was taken to an undisclosed location by the assailants.
Also, a source close to the family of the NURTW boss said his abductors were demanding a sum of N15m for his release from his family.
But Jemila, during a telephone interview with newsmen, said, “The number used to contact us was no longer connecting.
“They are not talking to us and we are unable to also talk to him (Ali).”
The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
