The Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Kashim Shettima has explained why he wore sneakers to Nigerian Bar Association’s conference earlier this week at the Eko Atlantic, Lagos.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, mocked Shettima over his outfit at the NBA Conference, stating that If Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s running mate don’t known how to dress, how would he address Nigeria’s challenges.
In a video making rounds online, Shettima claimed that he was told that a presidential candidate has been meeting with some people to foment trouble at the conference, and that the crowd at the NBA conference is a hostile one.
The former Borno State governor pointed out that he was once a banker before going into politics and that he wore sneakers to “sub” the hostile crowd.
Shettima said, “I was in Lagos for the NBA conference.
“It used to hold at Eko Hotel and was largely funded by the APC government of Lagos state.
He continued; “Subsequently, they moved it to Eko Atlantic; a product of an idea sanctioned by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“One of the candidates, he funded his agents and they held meetings for 3 consecutive nights to cause mischief.
“When I was told that it was a hostile crowd, I deliberately wore sneakers.”
