For repeatedly belittling the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, the Peter Obi media office has mocked Reno Omokri.
According to the camp of Peter Obi, Omokri is in the habit of mentioning Obi instead of campaigning for his principal.
Omokri is a staunch supporter of former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former presidential aide claimed that the biggest beneficiary of Obi’s candidature is Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Peter won’t affect APC’s votes. The votes he will likely get are votes that would have naturally gone to PDP”, he said.
In reply, Obi’s media office said it appreciates the challenge of marketing a bad product, “let alone an unelectable candidate who have been duped over and over again by monumental political fakes”.
A rejoinder made available to DAILY POST called Omokri a social busybody who has an undiluted fantasy of pronouncements for relevance.
“We appreciate Mr Omokri’s frustration arising from his dimming image after his catastrophic choice of candidate for 2023 and his struggle to perform the impossible of convincing the people that rusty iron can be gold.”
The statement noted that it was laughable that Omokri asserted that the APC leader was using Obi to undermine Atiku.
It advised Omokri to learn to remain in his parallel lane “in the journey to reach his final destination even if he cannot get the ultimate medal”.
Adding that Omokri has the chance to market his candidate, Obi’s camp wonders why he chooses to drag the LP flagbearer into his analysis in order to catch citizens’ attention.
Obi’s supporters were advised to ignore the author, his comments and “remain focused with their eyes on the ball”.
