The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), has promoted 5, 010 officers of the service to various ranks across the board in a sustained drive to boost the morale and welfare of personnel.
Commandant General of the Corps, Dr Ahmed Audi, made this known in a communique signed by the Public Relations Officer, (PRO), of the Corps, Olusola Odumosu, Saturday, in Abuja.
Audi said the recent drive at promotion, and regularization of officers and men of the corps is part of his administration’s drive to encourage hard work, and promote the culture of merit and award for excellence.
“As the man occupying the driver’s seat, I have resolved to ensure that deserving personnel, most especially dedicated ones are promoted accordingly, to increase their level of productivity.
“From a total of 5010 upgraded personnel, 4, 494 were promoted while 516 got upgraded by conversion” the CG explained.
He said the promotion list comprises personnel from the ranks of Inspector of Corps II to Deputy Commandant of Corps, (DCC), including officers upgraded and or converted with effect from January 2020 and 2021 respectively.
A breakdown of the promotion list shows that a total of 116 Assistant Commandants of the Corps, (ACC), moved to the rank of Deputy Commandant of the Corps, (DCC), 362 Chief Superintendents of the Corps, (CSC), were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commandant of Corps, (ACC).
Also 399 Superintendents of the Corps, (SC), also got elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Corps, (CSC), while 550 Deputy Superintendents of the Corps, (DSC), are now to wear their new rank of Superintendent of Corps, (SC).
Another 888 Assistant Superintendents of Corps I, (ASC I), are now Deputy Superintendents of Corps, (DSC), 1, 191 Assistant Superintendents of Corps II, (ASC II), got promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI) while 988 Inspectors of Corps II, (IC II), were also promoted to Assistant Superintendents of Corps II (ASC II).
Other 516 personnel also got upgraded and or converted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II (ASC II) accordingly.
While appreciating the minister of interior and chairman of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Rauf Aregbesola, for his unwavering support to the NSCDC, the CG tasked the new promo tees to justify their promotion by contributing to the growth of the Corps through hard work, renewed zeal, vigour, loyalty to service and the nation.
