Bukayo Saka, an Arsenal winger, will double his £70,000 weekly salary after dropping the biggest hint that he will extend his contract at the Emirates.
According to talkSPORT, negotiations are still going on, but despite Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United’s interest, the Gunners are confident.
And now when asked about his manager’s comments, Saka replied: “Yes, I share his confidence.”
When pressed further, the forward simply added: “I share that confidence, that is it.”
Chelsea’s attempts to acquire Anthony Gordon from Everton have failed, as the 21-year-old will stay at Goodison Park despite repeated offers from the Blues.
The Blues are believed to have offered around £60m for the youngster, but Frank Lampard has said the deadline has passed to sell him.
After his side drew 1-1 with Leeds on Tuesday, Lampard said: “I’m very confident he’ll be our player. Deadline to decide to sell him has passed.
“He’s too important a player, he’s shown his worth. What good does it do us to do anything with Anthony now?”
