Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the 2023 Accord Party (AP) presidential candidate, has received support from Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former Nigeria military head of state.
Abubakar stated his position when the flagbearer paid him a courtesy visit at his home in Minna, Niger State’s capital.
The retired general noted that Imumolen and other dynamic, young leaders were desperately needed in Nigeria and that it was past the old guard’s retirement.
“The old ones should fade away gracefully and allow young people to take over. What we can do as former leaders is to tutor them in whatever way we can in order for them to lead the country.
“As a matter of fact, this is the time Nigerians should begin to support young, vibrant and visionary leaders that would steer the country on the path of glory,” he said.
Speaking to reporters, Imumolen reiterated his stance on the role the next generation of leaders should play in taking Nigeria to greater heights.
The AP candidate stressed the urgency to reposition the nation on the path of progress, development and sustainable growth.
“Nigerians should start looking at selecting those who have a track record in leadership at various levels from both the private and public sector”, he added.
