A yet-to-be identified lady was killed by gunmen who attacked some commercial banks in Ankpa, Kogi State.
The robbers numbering over 20 were said to have operated for over an hour on Tuesday.
According to PUNCH, an eyewitness, who did not want his name in print for security reasons, said that some of the robbers arrived the town in three vehicles, while others arrived on motorcycles.
It was gathered that they entered Ankpa through the eastern flank, blocked all exit routes and operated uninterrupted.
They were said to have first attacked the police station in the town on their way to the banks.
“After robbing the banks for about an hour, they drove dangerously through the town out of Ankpa with unending gunshots.
“They left Ankpa through Okpo Olamaboro Local Government Area road, but no one knew their destination,” the source added.
The state Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka and the state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, did not take their calls neither reply the text messages on Tuesday, PUNCH reports.
