A car rammed into a store, killing a baby over the weekend in Ore, the administrative centre of Ondo State’s Odigbo Local Government area.
No fewer than three people in the neighbourhood were hurt as a result of the tragedy.
The collision happened on the congested Ore-Okitipupa highway and involved a Toyota Camry with the licence plate KSF 77 EZ.
An eyewitness claimed that the Toyota Camry’s speeding driver swerved and rammed into the store in an effort to avoid colliding with a motorcyclist.
“The driver drove on top speed, and rammed into a shop and killed a baby, leaving others injured.”
The baby was said to be sleeping when the vehicle rammed into the shop.
The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ore, Mr Sikiru Alonge, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that four persons were involved in the accident.
He added that three persons were injured while one person died on the spot, stressing that the injured victims were taken to the General Hospital in Ore.
