The management of the Osun State University (Uniosun) has disclosed that six of its students have been expelled from the institution for belonging to secret societies.
The Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor Clement Adebooye, made the disclosure at a press conference heralding the 11th convocation ceremony of the university.
He said Uniosun had zero tolerance for cultism and other social vices, including drug abuse, immoral behaviour, examination malpractice and thuggery.
He further said the management of the university had devised various strategies to curb cultism and therefore warned the students to shun secret societies.
Concerning the convocation, he said 2,033 students successfully completed their studies, 45 of them with first class, who would be conferred with first degree, while five post-graduate students would be awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
