Joel Matip scored in stoppage time to get Liverpool’s Champions League campaign back on track with a 2-1 win against Ajax on Tuesday.
The Reds had lost scandalously to Napoli in their last outing and only scrapped past their visitors to get their first three points on the board.
Mohamed Salah opened scoring in the 17th minute before Mohammed Kudus restored parity heading into the break.
The goal was Salah’s first in seven Champions League appareances – somewhat of a poor run of form.
Matip, however, headed past Remko Pasveer in the 89th minute to spare Jurgen Klopp and his charges who were last year’s finalist the blushes of having just one point from two games.
They will next face Rangers in Matchday 3.
