Kano Senator Kabiru Gaya has lost one of his children, Sadiq.
The deceased, a lawyer, worked for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) as a staff member.
Sadiq was buried at around four o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday in Abuja. He is survived by his spouse and two children.
Gaya, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), lost his wife, Halima, in May 2020.
Kano Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has commiserated with the federal lawmaker and the family.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, said the news of Sadiq’s demise was received with shock.
“May Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala forgive all his shortcomings and reward his good deeds,” the spokesman noted.
Ganduje already visited Gaya, also of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his residence in Abuja.
70-year-old Gaya has served in the Senate since 2007, representing Kano South Senatorial District.
