Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, felt relieved after his team’s 3-0 victory at Wolves in Saturday’s early game.
After just 55 seconds, Jack Grealish gave the Premier League champions a 1-0 lead.
Erling Haaland doubled City’s advantage with a solo effort before Phil Foden added one more goal.
Guardiola told BT Sport: “The game started really well for us with the two goals and the red card and after the Champions League to come here at 12:30 with the quality they have, they can keep the ball and transitions are fast, it was an incredible victory.
“We struggled a lot after half-time until Phil’s [Foden] goal so a lot of credit to Wolves.”
City’s next game after the international break will be at home against Manchester United.
