An Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos State has sentenced kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans to 21 years imprisonment.
The presiding judge, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, convicted Evans alongside his co-defendant, Victor Aduba, on Monday.
The two convicts were accused of conspiring and kidnapping Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia on June 23, 2014, at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos.
They were alleged to have captured and detained Hafia and demanded a ransom of $2m.
The sentence brought to a logical conclusion the case of Evans who’s been standing trial for years. It, however, remains to be seen if his counsel will push for an appeal of the judgement.
