Federico Valverde, a midfielder for Real Madrid, told Manchester United’s summer acquisition Casemiro that he was sorry to see him leave Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford.
In August, Casemiro departed Real Madrid for Manchester United, paying £63.4 million, and Valverde has given some thought to the Brazilian’s departure.
Valverde admitted that he missed Casemiro at the Real Madrid dressing room.
The Uruguayan star has been in fine form at the start of the new season, scoring four goals.
Valverde was on the scoresheet in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
“It was very sad, obviously. For me, he was more than a teammate. He was a very special person, who opened doors for me at all times, advised me, and taught me the values of this team and this club. He always supported me,” Valverde told TNT Sports (via Bola VIP).
“He was my brother in the locker room. I miss him already, but I wish Casemiro and his whole family all the best always, wherever they are.”
