Ibrahim Shekarau, a former governor of Kano State and a senator currently serving Kano Central, has switched parties to the PDP.
On Wednesday during the Senate’s plenary session, Shekarau announced his defection.
Prior to his defection, he was a part of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
He had earlier moved from the All Progressives Congress to the NNPP.
In another news, the Chairman of Igbos Elders Consultative Forum, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has explained the reason behind his visit to the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Kashim Shettima.
Ezeife claimed that he had visited Shettima as part of efforts to secure justice and compensation for a young businessman who was contemplating suicide after the Borno authorities allegedly demolished his business premises and other properties.
