Lagos man Sunday Zabadi docked for stealing necklaces worth N8.9m

Sunday Zabadi, 48, who is accused of stealing a package containing diamond and gold chains worth N8.9 million, was brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A two-count conspiracy and theft charge was brought against the defendant.

He did, however, enter a not guilty plea.

The defendant allegedly committed the crimes on July 7 around 9.30 p.m. at the Cement Bus Stop in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos State, according to the prosecutor, ASP Rita Momah.

According to her, the defendant stole the Temitope Badiru parcel and used it for his own purposes.

The alleged offences contravene Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Miss Adeola Adedayo, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of one million Naira with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Oct. 5 for mention.
