A security guard has been arrested by the police for beating an 18-year-old labourer to death at Karsana, opposite Kubwa, Abuja.

The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday night at the site of a massive housing project.

According to Daily Trust, a brother to the deceased, Abdussalam Isa, said his late sibling, Abdullahi, came to Abuja last Friday from Sabon-Birni in Sokoto State.

Narrating the incident, he said, “He joined me here to work as a labourer for this housing estate under construction. The facility is under our elder brother’s security guards.’’

He further said the late Abdullahi went out in the night to buy food and that on his way back security guards at the neighbouring site held him hostage and beat him to death for being a suspect.

He explained that his late brother was a stammer, hence that effort to communicate himself to the security guards was not successful until he collapsed.

He said, “That was when they rushed into our estate informing us that Abdullahi kept pointing towards our site. We rushed there and met him dead with his hands tied.

The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Abubakar Abdulkarim, who confirmed the incident said one suspect had been arrested, while two others were on the run.
