Osun man defiles 4-year-old girl, threatens to kill her if she tells anyone

37-year-old man, Abiodun Babatunde, has been remanded in prison for defiling a 4-year-old girl in the Surulere Area of Ikirun, Osun State.

Babatunde allegedly committed the offences on 20th March, 2022.

The suspect was arraigned on four counts bothering on unlawful intercourse, sexual assault and threat to life

The prosecutor, Elisha Olusegun, said Babatunde sexually assaulted the victim (name withheld) and thereafter threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

Olusegun said after the incident, the victim had to undergo a medical procedure following injuries she sustained.

The offences committed were said to have contravened Sections 31(1)(2) and 32 of the Child’s Rights law of Osun State 2007, as well as, Sections 360 and 86 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

The plea of the defendant was not taken due to the nature of the matter, although his charges were read.

The presiding magistrate, A. Odeleye, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Center and adjourned the matter to November 3, 2022.
