Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has set up an Interim Management Committee (IMC) that will manage the affairs of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The IMC will replace the League Management Committee (LMC) which was recently declared illegal by the Sunday Dare-led ministry.
The license of the LMC was also withdrawn by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following a directive from the ministry.
Former director general in the ministry, Gbenga Elegbeleye will serve as the chairman of the constituted body, while a veteran journalist and football administrator, Paul Bassey is named vice-chairman.
Erstwhile Enugu Rangers striker, Davidson Owumi is the head of operations, with Olumide Bamiduro named secretary.
