Babangida Aliyu, a former Governor of Niger State has described the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, as the healthiest of all presidential candidates.
This was made known on Monday by Aliyu in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, during the declaration of support for Atiku by 20 volunteer groups in the South West.
Former governors Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano), Boni Haruna (Adamawa), former Acting PDP National Chairman, Yemi Akinwonmi, Ogun PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu, and his running mate, Adekunle Akinlade, as well as other south-west PDP leaders, attended the rally.
Recall that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu’s fitness video, posted on Sunday, is currently trending on social media.
Tinubu posted a short video of himself exercising on the treadmill on social media, in a bid to dismiss alleged health challenges.
But Aliyu argued that a medically fit presidential candidate does not require proof by sharing a video clip on social media.
He insisted that “Atiku is the healthiest of the presidential candidates in this country.”
He also declared that the Atiku presidency would reclaim Nigeria from Boko Haram, bandits and other criminals.
On his part, Shekarau urged Nigerians to get their voter cards ready to vote out the APC government next year.
Haruna also said, “I want to appeal to you to join us as you committed the primaries to support him, and you delivered; we also want to appeal to you that now that the campaigns have begun, we plead that this campaign should go to the wards, should go to the units,”
Adebutu similarly urged the South West to support Atiku’s candidacy, saying, “PDP is the party that can take you to the mainstream of Nigeria.”
