The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign for Atiku Abubakar, according to Governor Aminu Tambuwal, is proceeding according to schedule.
The Sokoto governor is the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Organisation (PCO).
In a statement released through a spokesperson, Mohammed Bello, Tambuwal denied the rumours that had been spreading online and elsewhere.
The governor said the campaign train “is continuing, by the grace of God, on Monday in Kaduna.”
He called the suspension “fake news,” adding that people were looking forward to the PDP train in their states.
Tambuwal, who declared that the PDP is the party to beat in 2023, said other parties were jittery about its popularity.
“None of them have composed their campaign councils, not to even talk of starting.” They are trying to throw spammers at our work.”
Tambuwal assured that the party’s campaign would be issue-based because “there are sufficient challenges in our country.”
“We shall do better for Nigeria; we hope we are able to convince Nigerians to vote for Abubakar and Okowa come February 2023,” the statement added.
