Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, announced that the party would release an updated list of its Presidential Campaign Council.
Recall that there was a social media uproar following the selection of Major General John Enenche rtd as a member of the LP presidential advisory council.
Enenche had in 2020 claimed that photos and videos from the massacre at Lekki Tollgate during the EndSARS protest were photoshopped.
However, Labour Party supporters insisted that because of his involvement in covering up the Lekki massacre in October 2020, he is unworthy of any position in Obi’s campaign team.
Reacting, Peter Obi in a tweet on Friday called for calm and patience.
He wrote, ”I’ve received several calls of concern following the release of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council list. Admittedly, there were some omissions and erroneous entries in the list, hence the concerns expressed.
”In response, the Labour Party Chairman in the presence of members of the NWC addressed the issues during a press conference.
”In keeping with our commitment to accountability, responsiveness and transparency, an updated list will be issued in due course. I plead for patience. ”
