The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra state has disavowed the state’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, for not openly supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Ngige stated on Channels Television earlier this month that he would decide who to vote for on his ballot paper.
He refused to choose between Tinubu and the Labour Party’s candidate, Peter Obi, claiming they were both friends.
“Both of them are my friends. My choice will be in the ballot box. Whether conscience or no conscience, on that day in February, I’ll have one vote,” Ngige had said.
But in a statement on Sunday, the chairman of APC in Anambra, Basil Ejidike, said Ngige’s views do not represent the party in the state.
“Ngige never said he represented the party during the interview and whatever he said was personal and does not reflect the position of the party in Anambra state,” Ejidike said.
