Tears flowed freely in Iheakpu Obollo-Afor, Udenu local government area of Enugu state Saturday afternoon as two siblings who were allegedly murdered by unknown persons were buried in their home town, Iheakpu Obollo-Afor.
Kingsley Chidubem Omeke, 24 and his younger brother Kyrian Chimezie, 22 were allegedly waylaid in their room in the night in Plateau state and shot dead by unknown gunmen on October 5, 2022.
An eye witness Chijioke Nnajiofor who spoke to our reporter on phone said that ” the entire community has been thrown into grief since the incident.”
Lamenting further, Mr. Nnajiofor explained that ” the worst is that these two brothers are very good. They were more like friends. They are hard working young who are in Plateau state to better their life. But look at what happened. The worst is that no suspect has been arrested since the incident occured.’
Asked if the victims had any known quarrel with anybody, Mr Nnajiofor said ” we don’t know and we may not be able to know again since they are now dead.”
On whether they are suspecting anybody for being behind their alleged assassination, our source said that ” we are not suspecting anybody right now. In fact, the whole thing is shrouded in confusion and secrecy. We just want to bury them so that they could rest in peace.”
However, all efforts by WITHIN NIGERIA to speak to any of their relations proved abortive as they were too emotional to speak on phone.
