Manchester City has been named Club of the Year at the 2022 Ballon d’Or awards in recognition of an outstanding season.
The Cityzens once again excelled at home in the men’s game, defeating Liverpool in a nail-biting title game to win their sixth Premier League championship and also advancing to the Champions League semifinals.
The City women’s team overcame a rocky start to the WSL season to finish third in the league in addition to reaching the FA Cup final and taking home the Women’s League Cup.
Players like Lucy Bronze, who is currently playing for Barcelona, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahre, Ederson, Joao Cancelo, and Phil Foden were all present at the ceremony in Paris and nominated for awards that evening as a result of the team’s outstanding performances.
