The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has informed students and lecturers about the resumption of the second-semester examinations despite agitations from students over an increment in fees and other unfriendly policies.
Students under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun state chapter, earlier today staged a protest demanding that the management reverse the increments of some fees, and also the newly introduced #10,000 registration fee.
Not moved by this action, the management in a statement signed by the Head, Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, tagged the students’ action as an ‘invasion’ and disclosed that the second-semester examination would continue on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
“The examination was disrupted on Monday, October 17, 2022 by the invasion of the Institution’s gate by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ogun JCC.
“In the light of this, initial examination timetables remain intact, while students are urged to steer clear of the Institution’s vicinity in their interest till Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Members of staff especially those involved in the examination are also informed to resume their duty posts on the above date promptly.” A part of the statement reads
However, Within Nigeria spoke to the Special Adviser to the Gov., Dapo Abiodun, on student matters, Adeyemi Azeez, and he said “Be rest assured with whatsoever information the management gives you”
Within Nigeria gathered that the protest would continue tomorrow.
