Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United player, was granted bail following a private hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.
The 21-year-old is charged with attempted rape, assault, using coercive force, and controlling behavior.
It was previously reported that the British international was arrested on October 15th for violating bail terms.
The alleged attempted rape happened in October 2021, while the alleged controlling and coercive behavior happened between November 2018 and this year.
During this time, Greenwood is also accused of monitoring the complainant’s (Harriet Robson’s) social media activity.
According to reports, the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm stems from an incident that occurred in December 2021.
Manchester United has suspended the forward’s participation in games while the case is being resolved. Greenwood has also lost several sponsorships, including Nike, and EA has confirmed that he has been dropped from active FIFA 22 squads.
As previously reported, United was recently compelled to publicly confirm that Greenwood’s playing status had not changed after fans noticed that his name was still listed on the website.
The forward is still getting his reported weekly salary of around £75,000 while on suspension, pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
On November 21, Greenwood will make a court appearance in Manchester Minshull Street.
