Tanzania held the Olympic Eagles to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying match on Saturday in Dar es Salaam.
The two goals scored at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium were penalty kicks.
Akanni Qudus was brought down inside the penalty area, resulting in the Eagles being given a penalty on the 29th minute.
Captain Success Makanjuola calmly slotted the ball home to hand Nigeria the lead.
The hosts equalised from another penalty 13 minutes from time through Ally Msengi.
The two teams failed to find the winning goal afterwards.
The reverse fixture will take place next week Saturday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
