Ola Aina, a Super Eagles defender, is set to sign a new two-year contract with Serie A club Torino.
Aina was on the verge of leaving the Turin club this summer after losing his place in the second half of last season due to his participation with Nigeria in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The 25-year-old has had a solid start to the 2022/23 season, appearing in 10 league games for Ivan Juric’s side.
According to Les Transferts, Torino have made positive progress in their discussions with the versatile defender.
An announcement is expected to be made soon on the contract extension.
Aina was set to become a free agent next summer but he will now extend his stay at the Stadio Olimpico until 2025.
He joined Torino initially on loan in 2018, before the Serie A club made the move permanent the following season.
