Bankole Olowookere, the head coach of the Flamingos, claims that the team is entirely focused on reaching the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final.
On Wednesday (today), the West Africans and Colombia will square off in the semifinal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.
The Flamingos will play in the competition’s semifinal match for the first time ever.
Olowookere’s girls defeated the United States of America 4-3 on penalties to secure a place in the last four.
The gaffer insisted that they are determined to go further in the competition by securing a place in the final.
“We are fully ready right from the day we qualified and I believe we will achieve our aim,” Olowookere said ahead of the clash against the South Americans.
“And to achieve that, we must beat the Colombians and we are doing everything to make it possible”, he said.
The game will kick-off at 12pm Nigeria time.
