21-year-old man, Lateef Ojo, has been remanded in a correctional center in Ibadan, over alleged conspiracy and armed robbery.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Oluyemi Eyiaromi, told the Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, that Ojo committed the offence at about 1:30 pm on October 19, at Odo-Ono Kekere Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Eyiaromi alleged that Ojo, and others, now at large, armed themselves with knives and cutlasses to rob a resident, Olanleyin Aliyu.
He said the defendant collected Aliyu’s cell phone valued at N70,000, a wristwatch worth N16,000, and N120,000.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 6(b), 1(2) (a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004.
The Magistrate, Mrs. S. I Babalola, did not take the defendant’s plea due to lack of jurisdiction.
Babalola directed that the case file be returned to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
The magistrate adjourned the case until November 29 for further mention.
