Chelsea manager Graham Potter has confirmed that Kalidou Koulibaly will miss a third consecutive match after being ruled out of Saturday’s match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
After suffering a knee injury against Brentford, Koulibaly missed the Manchester United match last weekend.
There were expectations that the Senegal defender would be ready for Tuesday’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg, but he was not.
Koulibaly has failed yet another fitness test ahead of this weekend’s showdown.
“Pretty much the same as we were against Salzburg. Mateo [Kovacic] no problem with his calf, just more fatigue.
“[Kalidou] Koulibaly, game came too soon, outside chance for Wednesday but not for tomorrow [Saturday],” Potter stated this during his pre-game press conference on Friday.
