Abbas Ramon, also known as Hushpuppi, an internet fraudster, has had his verified account deactivated.
Hushpuppi is currently being tried in the United States on charges of fraud.
According to the PUNCH, Hushpuppi was arrested in June 2020 in Dubai by a joint team of Dubai Police and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation for alleged fraud on various victims, including American citizens.
Hushpuppi was then extradited and charged with hacking, impersonation, banking fraud, and identity theft on multiple counts.
Meanwhile, the suspected internet fraudster’s account with the username @hushpuppi has approximately 2.8 million followers, 827 followers, and 540 posts showcasing his lavish lifestyle.
Despite being arrested and tried, Hushpuppi was allowed to share videos and photos on Instagram as long as he did not represent any dangerous organizations or individuals.
However, the social media platform appears to have reconsidered its decision to keep Hushpuppi’s account active.
The PUNCH recently checked to confirm Hushpuppi’s account activity, and the search results show that his account has been deactivated as of Sunday, October 30, 2022.
