Chief Olu Falae of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization Afenifere has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, to address the issue of insecurity if elected President.
According to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Nigerians now travel in fear due to the country’s security challenges, which he claims was not the case years ago.
The Afenifere chieftain also advised Tinubu to address the country’s dwindling economy, high price and food inflation, and the naira’s falling value.
Falae stated this on Sunday during a visit to the former leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Faosranti, and some elders of the organization in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
The former SGF stated that he is no longer seeking employment and that Afenifere elders would be available to advise Tinubu if he came to meet with them.
Falae stated that he has spent his entire life serving Nigeria and does not want his life to be wasted in his old age.
He said;
You have a lot of work to do, Nigeria has been turned down, I used to go to Lagos without any fear at the age of 14. You have to look into the issue of insecurity.
They want to change currency it would have much pressure on naira because the election is nearer. Financial matters should be looked into, how you will do it, and God will guide you. We will be available to advise you if you get there.
When you become President please work to fix this country. We are here to offer advice. I am old and no longer looking for a job. We need to fix security and fix our economy.
Our naira is almost becoming useless and will soon become N1, 000 to a dollar. We must change that. I know your ability. We will always be here to support and I wish you well. We will be here when you bring the trophy home by the grace of God.
