Ibrahim Zango has been named Atiku Abubakar’s principal secretary, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate and former vice president of Nigeria.
The PDP presidential candidate personally signed a letter announcing Zango’s appointment.
The new appointment, a native of Katsina State, is a seasoned public servant who has represented Nigeria in missions abroad, including the Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, among others.
Between 2001 and 2002, Zango served as the Presidential Villa’s Chief Protocol Officer.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Sokoto and his Master of Arts in International Relations from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England.
He is a Fellow of the Washington, DC-based Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy. Additionally, Mr. Zango has taken a number of specialized courses in the management, administration, and operation of the Foreign Service both domestically and abroad.
The appointment of Zango is effective right away.
