Todd Boehly, Chelsea co-owner, is reportedly close to signing England international Jude Bellingham for the Blues.
According to Bild, Boehly has gotten in touch with Bellingham’s father and agent to talk about a sensational transfer to Chelsea, which is vying with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Liverpool for the player’s services.
Chelsea is one of the four “serious” candidates to land Bellingham, and they are prepared to match Dortmund’s astounding asking price for the midfielder if it means they can bring him to Stamford Bridge in the coming summer.
Bellingham, who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund, has quickly developed into one of the most highly-rated players in Europe.
He has flourished at Dortmund, making more than 100 appearances for the Bundesliga club since his £25million move from Birmingham City back in 2020.
The 19-year-old’s form in the Bundesliga and Champions League has seen him become a key member of manager Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Bellingham’s current contract with Dortmund will expire in 2025.
