A Nigerian woman has been arrested for smuggling heroin worth Rs 30 crore at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi, India.
The customs official, who disclosed this on Wednesday, November 2, said the accused was intercepted after her arrival from Lagos via Doha on Monday, October 31, 2022.
He explained that around four kg of heroin, valued at Rs 30 crore, which was concealed inside cavities of a bag was recovered from her possession.
The official added that the passenger has been arrested and the narcotic was seized.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that 30-year-old Nigerian woman, Nwafor Onyinye Monica, was arrested by the police for being in possession of cocaine worth 5.75 lakh in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
Okafor was arrested on Saturday, October 1, 2022, near Kanathur toll gate in an affluent neighbourhood off East Coast Road (ECR).
The police also recovered Rs 2.6 lakh cash and seized mobile phone from the suspect, who came to India nine months ago for her brother’s cancer treatment.
