The Federal Government said it has drilled 150 motorised boreholes to enhance access to safe drinking water in Adamawa.
The statement was made by Alhaji Aminu Sambo, the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing’s Controller of Housing, during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Yola.
In order to address water shortages, he claimed that the administration installed motorized boreholes with overhead tanks and discharge points in communities throughout the state’s 21 local government units.
According to him, the project was carried out as part of a special federal intervention designed to increase access to safe and clean water and improve water supply.
He claimed that the project was intended to help rural populations overcome their access to clean water challenges.
According to him, the federal government has also constructed 100 housing units and installed 780 units of solar powered streetlights in selected communities across the state.
