The Oyo State House of Assembly has received a budget for the 2023 fiscal year of three hundred and ten billion naira (#310,000,000,000.00) from Governor Seyi Makinde.
This presentation was made by Makinde on Thursday in Ibadan.
Top government officials, elected officials, and members of the state House of Assembly were present for the budget presentation.
Adebo Ogundoyin, Speaker of the House of Assembly, stated at the presentation that the budget will be used to consolidate and strengthen the development foundation the governor laid.
He promised that the parliamentarians would do their part to see that the budget was carried out.
He added that this will help to allow the budget to achieve its set goals and results.
Ogundoyin further explained that the lawmakers will maintain necessary checks on all arms of government.
He said, “This is the last budget to be presented by our amiable Governor ahead of the 2023 General Elections.
“As expected, it will be used to solidify and consolidate on the development foundation laid since 2019 by this administration which has given us an edge over all past administrations in Oyo State, especially in terms of infrastructural growth, educational development and socio-economic transformation.
“I like to assure us that on our part, we will again be aggressive in performing our duties in ensuring complete implementation and monitoring of the 2023 budget to achieve its set goals and desired results.
“We will maintain necessary checks on all arms of Government and we will not compromise on democratic ethics and ideals”.
