Two men, Mubarak Muhammad and Nazifi Bala, risk being send to prison after they were arraigned before the Kano Magistrate’s Court for defaming the state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje in a viral video.
According to the First Information Report, the duo, in a video posted on Facebook, said the governor sells people’s land and oversleeps.
After the First Information Report was read to the defendants, they pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Wada Ahmad, applied for summary trial of the two defendants.
The court found them guilty and adjourned the matter till November 7, 2022, for sentencing.
