Obasanjo Is The Greatest Nigerian Living Or Dead – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri

The former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has called former President Olusegun Obasanjo the greatest Nigerian alive or dead.

On Saturday, Omokri took to Twitter to ask the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to consider including Obasanjo’s image on one of the redesigned naira notes.

Omokri stated that during his presidency, Obasanjo contributed significantly to the nation by repaying all foreign debts and establishing democracy in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.

In addition, the former Presidential aide argued that Obasanjo should be honoured by the Federal Government for his role in brokering a peace deal in Ethiopia.

He wrote:

I appeal to the Central Bank of Nigeria to consider putting President Obasanjo’s image on the redesigned naira. He is the greatest Nigerian living or dead. He and Atiku paid our entire foreign debts. He entrenched democracy and has now brought peace to Ethiopia.

Obasanjo ended the Nigerian Civil War, and Liberian Civil War, prevented a civil war in São Tomé, and has now ended the Ethiopia-Tigray Civil War, and someone is saying that the CBN should not put him (his image) on the redesigned naira note because he is still alive? Nonsense!

South Africa put Mandela’s image on their currency while he was still alive. Benin Republic put living Olympians on her currency. Many other nations have living people on their currencies. President Obasanjo deserves the honour for what he has done for Nigeria and Africa!.

Following a meeting in South Africa, the Ethiopian government agreed to end the two-year conflict with rebel forces in the country’s northern Tigray region on Wednesday.

The African Union (AU) called the meeting through Obasanjo, the AU’s lead envoy on the issue.

Other AU envoys include former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and former South African Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
