Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) “stole” some of his ideas as the 2023 election approaches.
Sowore made this claim while speaking on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics program, which was watched by WITHIN NIGERIA.
All the ideas that we spoke about, that we wanted to implement in 2019 have now become dominant. Even some of the ideas they were laughing at – minimum wage, issue of alternative sources of revenue for the country, the way we wanted to fight corruption. Some of the ideas in 2019 were even stolen by the ruling party, brazenly.
I was the one who first proposed for instance that Democracy Day should be June 12 as opposed to May 29, and they stole the idea, Sowore said.
He expressed his belief that Nigerians have “learnt their lessons”, especially with what he describes as poor governance of the APC government.
