Former Ogun Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel has said Nigeria is not about to collapse because it has nine lives.
He dismissed fears over the disintegration of the country, saying it would rather overcome all challenges.
Daniel stressed that what the country needs is the right combination of leaders, which the All Progressives Congress (APC) has provided through its presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Senator Kashim Shettima.
He stressed that the duo is not lacking in ideas on how to tackle the many challenges confronting the nation.
He stressed that Tinubu and Shettima have a track record of service.
The Ogun East APC senatorial candidate spoke in Abuja on Thursday at the one-day symposium on dissecting the Asiwaju manifesto. “Renewed Hope 2023: Action plan for better Nigeria.’’
According to him: “I’m not one of those people who think that this country is going down. It is a country with knives. You’ve just been told, for instance, that if we are able to pipe our gas, the gas we have been flaring away in the last three, four or five decades through the Sahara Desert to the Mediterranean to Europe, we will probably be reaping bountiful harvest from the crisis that we have in Ukraine and Russia.
‘’ So, Nigeria, I’m quite optimistic, is a country with nine lives and is not about to die and all we need to do is to find people with potential to identify those growth areas and I think in this combination we have gotten it.
“There isn’t a lot got to do with infrastructure with our security And let me make a confession here, part of what I’m thrilled about this ticket, is our incoming Vice Presidents Senator Shettima, and of course when you see the kind of work in terms of security that our incoming vice president had done in Borno state, I feel quite happy and elated about that combination.
‘’While somebody is looking at infrastructure, somebody is backing on with security. We have a great country that we can look forward to.”
