Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, revealed details of a meeting he had with high-ranking members of his team on Monday.
In a brief statement issued via his Twitter account, Atiku stated that the meeting focused on how to rebuild Nigeria ahead of the 2023 election.
The PDP candidate stated that the crucial meeting took place on Sunday night at the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Abuja and was attended by his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the chairman of his presidential campaign council, Governor Udom Emmanuel, and party gubernatorial candidates from across the states.
He wrote:
“Last night, I held a crucial meeting alongside my running mate and Governor of Delta State, Dr.
@IAOkowa, Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Akwa Ibom State,
@MrUdomEmmanuel, and gubernatorial candidates of our great party, the PDP, at the Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. As ONE, We Shall Recover Nigeria. -AA”
Don’t Remove Ayu As Chairman
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Coalition for Professionals Group and Peaceful Coexistence (PDP-CUP) has endorsed the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the group stated that Ayu has the ability to lead the party to victory in the 2023 general elections.
According to the group, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, have the knowledge and energy to address Nigeria’s challenges.
The group claimed that if the party’s presidential candidate is elected next year, he will be committed to fairness, justice, and equity for all.
On Sunday, the coalition’s National Coordinator, Muhammad Dan’auta, stated that Ayu has the ability to ensure that the main opposition party emerges stronger from its current challenges.
