Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has vowed to refrain from disparaging Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate.
Fayose maintained that despite their differences in political philosophy, he holds Tinubu in high regard and believes that President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor should be from the South.
Speaking on Thursday during a Channels TV programme, Fayose bemoaned how some Southerners quarrel over political power while their northern counterparts cooperate.
He said, “If people are expecting me to abuse Tinubu to show that I am not supporting him, I will not do that.
“Even with the low level of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, I have not seen one single northerner that have come out to insult of attack the president one day.
“I have not seen a northerner that have come out to insult Atiku but here, to achieve our goals, I must come out to insult Tinubu, I will not do that”.
