The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State lost 2,343 supporters to another party on Thursday, November 17, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Since then, the politicians have pledged allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During the inauguration of the Ubandoma/Sagir Mainiyo Old Market Development Association, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Saidu Umar, charged the decampees to use all of their previous experience to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming elections.

Outlining his agenda for empowerment programs, Umar stated that if elected, his administration would provide opportunities for the state’s youth and women.
He praised the association’s chairman, Abdulrashid Maccido, for empowering men and women in the area and urged other businesspeople in the party to follow suit.
Yesterday’s event was attended by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Abdullahi Maigwandu, the Commissioner for Animal Health and Fisheries, Abdulqadir Junaidu, and the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bashir Gidado.
