Nigeria needs to be saved and put on a better growth trajectory, something that can only be accomplished by the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
At a press conference on Tuesday in Ilorin, the director-general of the party’s Kwara State Presidential Campaign Committee, Dr. Mahmud Tunde Ajeigbe, stated that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the party’s presidential candidate, will storm the state on Thursday to launch his campaign activities in the state.
Given the current level of incompetence and incapacity of the All Progressives Congress, APC, government, the Director-General stated that the flag-off will take place at Metropolitan Square, along Asa Dam road, in Ilorin, at 10 am. He added that “the PDP, has much more to offer Nigerians in terms of governance experience at managing a diverse country like Nigeria.”
He bemoaned the decline in key economic indicators, including historically high levels of poverty, deteriorating unemployment conditions, rising levels of insecurity, and shameful levels of corruption.
Dr Ajeigbe further said: “It is incontrovertible that our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is a versatile and highly experienced politician who has the capacity to take this country out of its current quagmire.”
Speaking on Kwara politics and the 2023 general elections, the Director-General, said the party had learnt its lessons and corrected mistakes committed which swept the party out of power in 2019.
He expressed confidence that the party is now sure of taking back the state in 2023 because the people have seen the difference now.
He also expressed confidence in the electoral umpire to conduct free, fair, credible and acceptable elections in the state, adding that the BVAS will be a game changer that will prevent attempts to rig elections.
Addressing the wrangling between the G5 governors and the party, Dr Ajeigbe assured that the disagreements would be resolved and the party would come out stronger for next year’s elections.
